Creator guide
Login is optional. You can create a list as a guest, but you must keep the Creator URL if you want to edit it later. Sign in before creating if you want the list connected to your account; signing in afterwards does not automatically connect a guest-created list.
Create a free listEnter a list name, event date, and any useful details. Choose the occasion, recipient, and age group, then select Create Occasion.
Paste a product link, wait for the preview, check or correct the details, then select Add. Pasting a link alone does not save a gift. If the preview is missing, enter the details manually, or add a custom gift without a link.
Include size, color, preferred store, quantity, or a short note so guests know exactly what to choose.
Copy the guest sharing link and send it to family and friends. They can browse and reserve gifts, but cannot edit your list.
Bookmark your private Creator link or email it to yourself. Anyone who has it can perform the permitted editing actions. Share the guest link instead.
Send the Guest URL to invitees. Keep the Creator URL private because it allows full list editing. If another person should help manage the list, create a separate creator link for them.
Guest guide
Guests do not need an account. The shared list shows which gift units are still available. Reserve before shopping to help others coordinate; the list cannot guarantee that nobody buys a duplicate.
Use the Guest URL sent by the list creator. You do not need to create an account or sign in.
Review the list and select Reserve on the gift you plan to buy. Availability updates help guests avoid duplicates.
Enter your name, choose a quantity if offered, and confirm. You can reserve only the remaining units. Other guests see availability, not your name. A reservation is a plan to buy, not proof of a purchase.
Return using the same browser and use the cancel action beside your own reservation. Moving to another device or clearing browser data may lose access to it. Signing in alone does not restore that access.
If a shop link is included, open it and buy from the seller. Claim A Gift records the reservation but does not process the shop payment.
Enter your name and the amount you want to pledge, within the remaining target. A contribution is a pledge, not a payment. Agree separately how to pay and who will buy the gift. Cancel your own pledge in the same browser if your plans change.
Recorded reservation and contribution names become available to the Creator only after the entire event day has ended in the event's saved time zone. Without a valid date and saved time zone, they stay hidden. Names are never shown in the public guest view, and missing names in older records cannot be recovered.
Invitees can reserve directly from the shared list.
Each reservation updates what later guests can choose.
Purchases and payments happen outside Claim A Gift.
