Step 2: Agree on a budget before making lists
Write the agreed budget in the list description so late joiners can see it. These are family choices, not rules imposed by the app.
Contribution amounts are pledges. Claim A Gift does not collect money or confirm that a group gift is paid for; agree who purchases it and how money is transferred.
- An approximate per-gift amount, for example €30.
- Gifts only for children, if adults agree to skip gifts.
- One larger group gift, with contributions arranged separately.
Step 3: Add a short, varied set of wishes
Paste a product link, review or correct the extracted preview, then press Add. If a preview is unavailable, enter the gift manually. Adding a link alone does not save the gift.
- Five to eight ideas per person can be a starting point, not a limit.
- For example: two under €20, several mid-range gifts and one or two larger group gift ideas.
- Include exact size, colour, model and preferred shop where relevant.
- Add at least one straightforward choice: a book, consumable or voucher.
- Parents can add notes such as “Please no more soft toys”.
Step 4: Share before relatives start shopping
This sample calendar is flexible. Adapt it to your family, delivery times and the date you celebrate.

Step 5: Reserve before buying
A reservation records an intention, not a purchase, delivery or received gift. Save your private Creator link if you create a list without an account; share only the guest link.
- Guests open the link in their browser without needing an account.
- Send a short reminder: “Please tap Reserve before buying to help avoid doubles.”
- With their agreement, help a relative reserve and enter the name they provide.
- Cancel a reservation if the purchase will not happen.
Step 6: Handle common problems

Will the Creator see who reserved a gift?
Recorded reservation and contribution names become visible to the Creator only after the entire event day has ended, in the event’s time zone. The reveal depends on the event date you set, not a fixed Christmas date.
Names are not shown publicly, do not prove who bought or gave a gift, and cannot be recovered for older records that did not store a name. Use what you actually received when writing thank-you messages.
